The bacteria of a band called CIMITERO were already pullulating in the underground around 1990, but only in 2008 these microorganisms formed a real entity. Their mission: spreading old school death/thrash/black metal in the dying world!

CIMITERO are opposed to any affiliation with the modern metal scene, they are severely addicted to br00tal riffs and lyrics about death'n'dying only!

Their debut album, "Lazaret of the abyss", was written and recorded in 2009/2010 and features eight songs because "8" was the average number of tracks featured on a LP in the glorious '80s!

The songs have a thrash metal vibe, and there are also hints of black metal to be found here and there.

"Lazaret of the abyss" features blistering solos courtesy of Mikk (formerly of Melancholia) and AndreaS (formerly of Legion), who shared lead guitar duties. CIMITERO started working on their second album, "Morbid curiosity", in late 2010. Lyrically, it's a concept about selected shocking events happened in Italy throughout the years. Musically, there was a progression towards techno death metal. AndreaS played the majority of the leads on the record, although Am (ex-Arkenemy, All Amort) contributed with a couple of solos as well.

Recordings started back in early 2011, and Francesco Ercolino finally mixed and mastered the album in the fall of 2012.

"Morbid curiosity, morose delectation, schadenfreude. As conventional wisdom has it, these are the symptoms of our dark side; we succumb to them at our own peril. And yet we are compelled to look whenever we pass a grisly accident on the highway, and there’s no slaking our thirst for gory entertainments like horror movies and police procedurals. What makes these spectacles so irresistible? I set out to discover the source of our attraction to the macabre, and to wonder if there's something nourishing in the darkness..."
